About

Andrei Baklanov is a journalist, editor and founder of the Factum media projects. His work sits where reporting meets legal analysis: public institutions, political pressure, immigration systems and the rules that shape people’s lives.

He founded and led the newspaper Omsky Khronograf in the 2000s, then founded Omsk55.ru in 2012 and served as its editor-in-chief through 2019. Now based in San Jose, California, he leads Factum.press and develops Factum Media and Factum Immigration.

His legal background was formed in Russia. It informs his reporting and editorial method; he does not practise law in the United States and his publications are not legal advice.
